We have encountered cases in which keloids and hypertrophic scars seemed to be combined. Thus, it is sometimes difficult to make a differential diagnosis between them. For these intermediate cases, previous classification systems seem inappropriate when planning treatments. Thus, we reported a new scoring system that is based on classification by severity of clinical manifestation in the last issue of this journal. We have handled keloids and hypertrophic scars together in a group of “fibroproliferative skin diseases”. This scoring system was considered to be useful when planning treatment of keloid and hypertorphic scar, but it does not consider weighting for characterizing typical keloids. Thus, in this 2nd report, we tried to make a new scoring system with weighting.
